2023 State Pilot Report

In 2021, The Ascend Fund launched a three-state pilot to increase the number of women serving in Michigan, Mississippi, and Washington legislatures. This effort was specifically intended to help the fund understand how to propel more women into leadership positions.

This report is a summary of our key learnings from the multi-year effort. This report is designed as a resource not only for The Ascend Fund’s current state partners but also for state and national organizations pursuing gender parity in politics across the country.
